Baltimore, named for the first Proprietary Governor of the Province of Maryland, has been around since July 30, 1729. In the intervening 280 or so years the city has developed a particular heritage, history, and culture. How the city preserves and promotes its heritage and culture could go a long way in setting its place in the future.
